The same can be said for Austin’s real estate market. We do have a lot of homes in the higher price brackets, but not enough buyers for those. The more expensive homes spend more time on the market, typically.
However, Austin has a limited amount of housing in the $200-$300,000 price range, which is where a lot of first-time homebuyers are. Of course, you can look further outside of Austin to find that price but will then see a longer commute time if you work in Austin proper. If something low does pop up, the problem becomes a battle with investors looking to make money off a good flip or turning the home into a rental property. This makes buying a home in the lower price range a difficult process, which is why you need someone by your side to help you enter the marketplace with the right knowledge to help you get what you want at your desired price point.
